  my sister in law jackie and her hubby came to visit this weekend.. .

  last month, so they told us, they went to the opera, in sheffield.

  just before the opera started a couple of security guys arrived and asked them if they would please stand so that 2 people could pass them to some vacant seats further along the row.. .

  Are they really this heartless?

  my teenage cousin got dfd about a month ago.

  it's tearing her mother apart.

  i guess right after the announcement was read, one of the "friends" told her "it's kind of like a death in the family, isn't it.

  Run In With Ex-Father-In-Law (Elder/PO)

  i had forgotten how much drama it is to deal with an elder who refuses to answer a direct question.

  this isn't even bible related yet still he refused to answer my question.

  first a little background.. last week my daughter missed detention.

  No , you are not crazy; your daughters grandfather is.

  I would make sure your daughters father is aware of the exchange.

  In no uncertain terms I would tell your daughters grandfather that unless he changes his attitude I will contact my lawyer about his visitation rights and make it legally impossible for him to have any visitation. due to his deceipt and refusal to communicate to you, concerning your childs welfare. Such " Watchtower elder arrogance" will only respond to a higher, legal authority; namely, "Ceasars Court".

  If it makes you feel any better ( when your daughter is not around) I would then verbally blast the old codge for daring to assume such authority of a mother over her child.

  Another JW divorce!

  my wife just got word that another couple in the local congregation will be divorcing.this will be the third one within 2 years,all couples in their 20's-30's,just like us here.. anyways,he committed adultery,got a std and she threw him out;the children are devastated.he was known for flirting with any attractive woman,married or not,christian or not.. what upsets me is that these people all went to the hall acting like righteous christians and pre-meditating their family-breaking adultery.meanwhile,i'm treated like shit because i don't attend all meetings here,they must have a wager on my wife and i.like i told the wife before<i'm not going anywhere and i value my family.

  I feel bad for anyone divorcing with children.

  I feel sorry especially for the children. I have seen SO MANY of my non JW friends divorce over the years. It is disturbing. Of course; most of the JW friends I had years ago who married so young have gone through a divorce.

  basically i asked her why she isn't coming to me to find out my concerns.

  i am the person who has the most invested in her.

  we just celebrated my elderly ( X JW) mothers 84 birthday.

  As her youngest child; she turned to me and said " how old are you now?" I replied " I am 48"

  "Oh," she replied, very surprised " you ARE old".
